This article provides an in-depth review of GetResponse, a well-known email marketing solution, and discusses its key pros and cons to help you determine if it is right for the email marketing solution of your business. I will discuss also some of the key features of the platform.

Let’s take a look.

What is Getresponse

GetResponse is an email marketing app that allows you to capture data onto a mailing list, send e-newsletters to subscribers on the list, and automate your email marketing using autoresponders. You can also view and analyze statistics related to your email campaigns, such as open rate, click-through rate, and forwards.

Getresponse has expanded its features to include a website builder, chat features, e-commerce features, webinar hosting, landing pages, and automated sales funnels.

Getresponse has recently announced new features, including conversion funnels and webinar hosting. These new features aim to make GetResponse more of an 'all-in-one' marketing platform.

What are the primary features of the Getresponse program?

In comparison with other email marketing tools, Getresponse has a lot of features - even on its entry-level plan. It has all the key features you'd expect from an email marketing platform, like list hosting, templates, autoresponders, and analytics. But it also has a lot of other features, to the point where it can be used for all-in-one marketing and e-commerce.

To learn more, let's dig deeper into some key features.

    Autoresponders

E-newsletters known as autoresponders are distributed to your subscribers at predetermined intervals. For instance, you can set up autoresponders so that people receive a welcome message from your company as soon as they sign up for your contact list, a discount offer for some of your goods or services a week later, and a reminder to follow you on social media three weeks afterward.
Autoresponders

The autoresponder functionality of Getresponse is one of its key selling points, especially for paid plans. This feature allows you to send either time-based or action-based messages. Time-based messages can be set on a cycle. Action-based messages could be initiated by user input or data.

    Marketing automation tools

Getresponse provides the option to sequence emails automatically in a more sophisticated way. This is known as "marketing automation," and it can only be accessible in full on "marketing automation plans" or higher. The drag-and-drop feature allows you to create automation workflows by setting up an 'automation flowchart.' This flowchart instructs GetResponse what to do if a user opens a particular offer or clicks on a certain link.

    Getresponse email templates

There are 171 GetResponsetemplates available, which is larger than other alternative email marketing systems, particularly Systeme. They have diverse, and the designs are modern and easily modifiable.

Getresponse email templates

The email templates are organized into a few categories based on key aims — promoting, teaching, selling, and so on — and their overall quality is outstanding.

On the bright side, the GetResponse email generator lets you utilize online fonts liberally. More Google Fonts can be utilized in your e-newsletters than any competitor application that I've personally examined so far.

Given the ubiquity of Google fonts in corporate branding, these days, this large variety of web fonts is fantastic since it will allow many users to construct email campaigns that respect brand values.

Finally, all GetResponse designs are responsive, which means they instantly change to the device on which an e-newsletter is being viewed – mobile, tablet, desktop computer, etc.

    Landing page creator

When it comes to lead generation, GetResponse provides a feature that many of its competitors do not: a landing page creator.

Landing pages are often an essential component of any online advertising strategy (Facebook, Google Ads, etc.)

This is because online advertising often produces considerably more leads when they drive viewers to attractive squeeze pages' with clear information and a clean, well-designed data collection form, rather than just pointing people to an information-packed website.

In this feature, GetResponse has an edge over its competitor to be the best email marketing solution in 2022

However, there are some problems with the landing page creator that must be fixed.

First and foremost, the UI is not especially straightforward – in fact, it is somewhat clumsy.

Second, you'll likely need to design different desktop and mobile versions of your landing pages.

    GetResponse’s website builder

The most recent addition to GetResponse's feature set is a website builder.

This allows you to establish a website within the GetResponse interface and link it to a domain that you control (you can also, if you like, buy your domain through GetResponse).

The templates for the website builder are rather decent, and there are quite a few of them (about 125), but the technology is still quite rudimentary, simply allowing you to construct simple, static pages.

GetResponse’s website builder
One thing to keep in mind regarding GetResponse's website builder is that the sites it generates aren't very fast, and there's space for improvement in terms of Google's new Core Web Vitals website performance and stability guidelines.

According to my tests, the mobile versions of GetResponse-built sites did not perform well in terms of site performance or Core Web Vitals. Having said that, the desktop versions performed admirably on both criteria.

Pros and cons of GetResponse

    Pros of using GetResponse

• GetResponse is less expensive (in some cases much so) than many of its primary competitors while providing the same, if not more, capability.

• There is a completely free version of the platform that may be used endlessly.

• It provides you with incredibly powerful marketing automation tools.

• The reductions you receive by paying for one or two years of service in advance are exceptionally significant - you'll be hard-pressed to find comparable deals from prominent rivals.

• The 'Chats' function will be a very valuable addition to many websites and, when implemented properly, may considerably enhance the conversion rate.

• Its flexible approach to data segmentation simplifies list maintenance – it outperforms several rival programs in this regard.

• GetResponse's webinar feature is excellent and a true USP - I haven't seen this functionality in similar programs.

• Its widget-based approach to dashboard customization makes it simple to see critical marketing data in one location.

• When you sign up for the subscription, no credit card information is required.

• The new form designer provides you with a great deal of control over popup forms and the data they collect.

• The 'all-in-one' strategy will appeal to small business owners on a tight budget since it eliminates the need for them to invest in several tools.

• Help is available in several languages.

    Cons of using GetResponse

• You may utilize the Facebook pixel with GetResponse's landing page functionality, but not in a GDPR-compliant manner.

• The drag-and-drop interfaces for constructing landing pages and forms are a little tricky – they should be improved.

• Split testing option is restricted to subject lines and text; it would be nice to be able to test the sender and send time as well.

• There is no phone support (unless you have a "Max2" package).

• Although the webinar tools are quite useful, the recording limitations aren't very liberal, and paid-for webinars are only available on the most costly GetResponse subscriptions.

• The website builder needs enhancements to compete with more established alternatives.

Conclusion of the GetResponse review

All in all, GetResponse is one of the more affordable options for hosting and communicating with an email database. It's priced reasonably in its market, and it's also one of the most unique email marketing platforms we've evaluated, in that it supports e-commerce, sales funnels, live chat, push notifications, and webinars in addition to e-newsletters.

It's difficult to think of a competitive email marketing solution that gives nearly as much of an 'all-around' promise as this one does; this makes it an especially suitable match for young business owners who don't have the funds to invest in several tools. Its 'Free-forever' plan is also rather generous.

In this GetResponse review, I've been impressed with GetResponse's webinar functionality- it's feature-packed and great value for what it is. However, some improvements need to be made. GetResponse probably needs to look most importantly at introducing a GDPR-compliant cookie consent mechanism for landing pages.

The GetResponse interface for landing pages could be more user-friendly. Overall, based on the advantages of the platform, I could conclude that it would be the best email marketing for your business, especially email marketing.
